Privacy Policy

Podcast AI (the “Service”), including the Get De-addicted show, is operated by Get De-addicted (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information we collect when you use the Service, how we use it, and the choices you have. We try to collect as little as possible.

1. Information we collect

Anonymous account cookie. The first time you use the generator we set a cookie named pc_uid containing a random identifier. It lets us remember your credit balance and your generation history without you creating an account. It is HTTP-only, lasts up to one year, and is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.

Google sign-in (optional). If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive and store your email address, your name, and your Google account identifier so you can keep your credits and history across devices. We do not receive your Google password.

What you submit for generation. The topics and instructions you type, scripts you paste, article URLs you provide (and the text we fetch from them), and text extracted from PDFs you upload. We store your prompt, any source URL, the generated script, show notes and the resulting audio file so you can replay, download and share them. For PDF series we keep the file name and the generated episode plan, not the PDF file itself.

Email subscriptions. If you subscribe to the show, we store your email address, where you signed up, and which welcome emails we have sent you.

Purchases. When you buy credits, payment is handled by Stripe on its own checkout page. We receive confirmation of the purchase (the pack and the number of credits) linked to your anonymous identifier. We never see or store your full card number or security code.

Listening statistics. When an episode’s audio is downloaded or streamed, we record the episode, a broad category of the app that requested it (for example “Apple Podcasts”, “Spotify” or “browser”, derived from the user-agent) and the date. We do not store your IP address or the full user-agent with these statistics.

Technical data. Like most websites, our server briefly processes your IP address to deliver pages and to apply rate limits that prevent abuse; rate-limit counters are held in memory only. Our hosting infrastructure may keep standard server logs (which can include IP address, time and requested URL) for a short period for security and troubleshooting.

2. How we use it

  • To generate scripts and audio, and to show you your history and credit balance.
  • To process purchases and add credits to your account.
  • To send show emails you asked for (you can ask us to stop at any time).
  • To understand, in aggregate, how the show is listened to.
  • To keep the Service secure, prevent abuse, and comply with the law.

We do not sell your personal information and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

3. Service providers we share data with

We share data only with providers that help us run the Service, and only what they need:

  • Anthropic (Claude) — your prompt, source article text or PDF text, to write the script and episode plan.
  • ElevenLabs — the script text, to synthesize the voices.
  • Stripe — payment processing. Stripe collects your payment details directly under its own privacy policy.
  • Resend — your email address, to deliver subscription emails.
  • Google — only if you choose Google sign-in.
  • Our hosting provider — stores the database and audio files on servers in the United States.

When you give us an article URL, our server fetches that page from its website. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users or others.

4. Who can see your episodes

Episodes you generate are not listed publicly, but anyone who has the link to an episode’s share page, audio file or RSS feed can access it. Only share links with people you are comfortable seeing the content. Episodes of the Get De-addicted show are published publicly by us.

5. How long we keep data

  • Generations (prompt, script and audio) and your credit balance are kept while your account is in use so you can access your history, until you ask us to delete them.
  • Email subscriptions are kept until you ask to be removed.
  • Listening statistics are kept in aggregate-friendly form without personal identifiers.
  • Purchase records are kept as long as needed for accounting, tax and fraud-prevention purposes.

Our providers retain data under their own policies; for example, Anthropic and ElevenLabs may keep API inputs for a limited period for safety and abuse monitoring.

6. Your choices and rights

You can clear the pc_uid cookie at any time in your browser; note that if you are not signed in, clearing it means we can no longer link you to your credits or history.

To access, correct, or delete your data, or to unsubscribe from emails, email us at getdeaddictedllc@gmail.com from the address concerned (or include your episode links so we can identify your anonymous account). We will respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live (for example, the EU/UK or California) you may have additional rights, such as data portability or objecting to processing; we will honor those requests as required by law.

7. Security

We use HTTPS, HTTP-only cookies, and limit access to our servers. No system is perfectly secure, so please don’t put sensitive personal information (such as health, financial or identity details) into prompts.

8. International users

The Service is operated from the United States and data is stored there. If you use it from elsewhere, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.

9. Children

The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Service changes. We will update the “Last updated” date above, and for material changes we will give reasonable notice on the site.
